Fullerton, CA — The United States Chamber of Commerce endorsed Young Kim’s run for Congress yesterday at an event at a local Fullerton business SlideBar. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has been representing and fighting on behalf of American businesses since 1912.
Local business leaders commended Young Kim on her long track record of helping businesses in the 39th Congressional District.
“Young Kim has been a small-business owner. She has been a public servant. She served with Congressman Ed Royce for over 20 years and served in the California State Legislature with distinction, and now she is ready to go to Congress,” stated Vartan Djihanian, United States Chamber of Commerce Manager, Western Region. “She is going to hit the ground running from day one to fight for lower taxes, to fight for cutting back overregulation and to make sure that we have free and open trade around the world.”
“Young Kim had a great record when she was in the State Assembly. She has truly been a champion and someone you can count on,” said Theresa Harvey, President and CEO of the North Orange County Chamber of Commerce.
“Nobody would better represent this District than Young who has worked in this District for years,” said Rosario Marin, Former Secretary of Treasury. “Young has committed herself to serving this community. She cares deeply about this community and she has the experience to go in on the first day and start working for the needs of this community. That is the difference between her and her opponent.”
Young Kim responded to the endorsement saying, “It means a lot to be endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. As your Representative, I will be a champion of small businesses across our District. Our businesses are the backbone of our local economy and when elected I will fight to make sure they have the support they need to thrive and create jobs for our community.”
Young Kim as also received the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the National Assertion of Women Owned Businesses, and over 100 state and local elected officials.
An immigrant, small-business owner and key adviser to Representative Ed Royce, Young Kim has also been named a “Young Gun”, the NRCC’s highest candidate designation.
